Wonderful sandy beach protected by a reef. Good snorkelling and swimming. Good hotel with good food options. Easy access to the beach for visitors with plenty of parking. Seals can occasionally be seen resting on the beach. Short walk to more secluded, long sandy beach.
The strongest asset of this resort is its scenic value and secluded nature. However, this resort needs more affordable options for food and entertainment. I have no problem paying money for quality food, but I felt constantly shorted by the quality of dining experiences. Specifically, breakfast options were minimal and lackluster. We did horseback riding on our last day and it was AWESOME. Other than that, there isn't much entertainment, and we felt constantly driven to leave the resort (not that there is much else going on nearby). Rooms were adequate and we had a great view, but it was missing amenities and convenience I would expect a place like this to have. Overall, it is worth it if you're prepared to pay a heavy premium for, as previously stated, scenic value and remote location.
This hotel is gorgeous. The decor is modern coastal, and elegant. All the hotel staff were amazing, courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean,. The bedding is comfortable, food service was prompt. We even ordered a meal 3 minutes before they closed and they were fast, and it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. My only complaint would be the price of the meals in their restaurants, not extremely bad, buy high for the level of service and taste of the food. It's not bad, but there are places outside the resort that are better and cheaper.
A friend hosted their wedding at the resort. The Point was a beautiful location for the ceremony. After the ceremony cocktails were served on the green by the Oceanfront rooms. Slightly shaded from the sun under the big palms. Even though it is not a private area you didn't feel like you were in the middle of the public path and beach area. The reception was located on the other side of the resort, under and clear topped tent, with views of the sunset. Very nice touch. Service was quick and friendly.
We also had the opportunity to rent bikes from the Adventure Centre. Good customer service. Expensive hourly rate. Best to go with the full day rate. Make sure to clarify the rentals fees for which kind of bike you are renting. It wasn't made clear to us and had to request a refund for the difference.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! This hotel has an amazing location, tucked away off the main drive in North Shore. We enjoyed the multiple bars and eating areas, and prices were as expected. The staff was friendly and offered some suggestions for local sightseeing and excursions. Food was delicious and drink specials equally so as well. The cove offers the perfect spot for learning to surf or for those who are still shy of tackling those big Hawaiian waves. The sunsets are stunning, especially when viewed from the back bar by the pool and peering over the ocean.
