We were recommended to eat here by our airbnb host as Romy supposedly raise their own shrimps . There was a line and our order of garlic shrimp, fried shrimp (wrapped in won ton skins and deep fried) took 25 minutes. Total for two orders was $33. Pricey especially when the shrimps were not fresh and the deep fried shrimp was overdone.
The staff is friendly and it has a nice outdoor picnic area but the lemon garlic shrimp is pretty greasy. We wanted the sweet and spicy shrimp but they were out of that. Do yourself a favor, drive a few extra miles south and go to Aloha Shrimp. They are cheaper and the spicy garlic shrimp is to die for!!
Don’t mind paying if the food is good. Very disappointing.
Anyways, don't make the same mistake I did - order the original butter garlic scampi. There are hand wash stations right there.
I wish I read the reviews before choosing to try Romy's. We don't get out to the area much but after a day at the beach we were in the area and figured we would treat ourselves. Got their around 3:30pm on a Sunday and there were roughly 4-5 customers in front of us and it took about 15 minutes till it was our turn to order. 1st words from the friendly worker was that it would be a 45 minute wait!?!?! That seem crazy but we gave them a chance. We ordered 4 shrimp plates and 2 corn and waited about 50 minutes to get our order. For that amount of time you would think your shrimp would be ready to eat not the usual shell-on. The shrimp was ok but definitely not worth a 50 minute wait. Needless to say this was a Bad first impression and our first and last time going here.
Garlic tasted burnt, waited about 20 minutes for food to come out after placing order, did not have a line when I ordered. Lots of seats, theres rest rooms and a sink to wash hands after eating. I like the run down white truck at the mill better, but they have limited seating.

I've been here before and I remember getting the butter garlic scampi and it was amazing. I think it's better than Giovanni's. I recently went here and I decided I didn't want to get my hands dirty so I ordered the fried shrimp. They said it would be about 30 minutes (which is weird because it wasn't busy and frying shrimp is really quick) They were out of pepsi (at 3:00pm as well....) Anyways, I got my plate in about 15 minutes. BIG mistake!!! I wish I got the buyer garlic scampi instead. The fried shrimp came with a sweet dipping sauce and then I ordered an extra side of garlic butter for my rice.
